Google changed its search engine rules on April 21st 2015 which has drastically affected websites that do not have a responsive design and so are not mobile friendly. This update will be rolled out in all languages across the globe.
If your website is already built with a responsive design and has a mobile friendly tag in the search results, then you are good to go. However, if your website is not responsive, then you need to take steps to make your website is compatible. This is important because more than 50% of worldwide searches occur on mobile devices and the Google update has benefited those company websites that are mobile friendly. Google will put your competitors websites further up the search engine results if their sites are mobile friendly and yours is not.
